Who will be the winner?

We have two tickets for you. The first ticket will be won by a random contestant who meets the contest rules and entry requirements. The second ticket will be donated to the author of the best map, which will be selected by a panel of Dragon Patrol creators. Both winners will receive a discount on a free ticket to HlidCon 2023 to their contest email.

Assignment for map creation

This contest gives you a unique opportunity to contribute to the content of Dragon Patrol. The winning map can be used for a new story by the author of Dragon Patrol himself. Don’t miss the opportunity to leave your mark on this unique story. You will be credited as the author of the map in the text.

Story description and target area – Monastery of St. Ulrika

The Monastery of St. Ulrika is located in the middle of a large valley surrounded by steep cliffs, and there is only one way into the valley, through a narrow pass. The valley was probably formed by the deepening of the earth’s surface by a huge glacier, the water from the lake then escaped through the pass, which now serves as an access road. The monastery is a well-known pilgrimage site and many adventurers and pilgrims have found refuge here during their travels. Several dozen nuns and a high priestess lived here. The site is also famous for its massive bell, inscribed with blue runes, dedicated to the god Frey, who is said to ring it in times of greatest need and be answered. The monastery itself is surrounded by high walls with several turrets around the perimeter. The main gate is built directly opposite the pass. The monastery is dominated by its tall bell tower, the monastery church and the paradise court, which is located roughly in the middle of the complex. There is a well in the courtyard. Other parts of the monastery can be imagined and drawn at your discretion.
Currently, the Monastery of St. Ulrika is occupied by dark cultists. They have desecrated it, except for the bell dedicated to the god Frey. The cultists have slaughtered most of the nuns and turned them into bloodthirsty zombies that roam in and around the monastery. In one building, the cultists hold the surviving villagers from the surrounding villages (roughly 30+ prisoners). The cultists in the monastery prepare to march and wait for reinforcements to arrive.

Official rules of the competition

The contest is organized by the Dragon Patrol’s HlídCon community in cooperation with Inkarnate. The contest is open for entries from the date it is posted on the website until March 10, 2023. After that, the contest will be closed. Only those creations will be included that thematically meet the brief described above, are set up for sharing, and are created using Inkarnate. Each contestant can only submit one map per contest. By submitting a creation, the author agrees to its possible use in a story for storytellers freely available on dracihlidka.cz. Only those creations whose author agrees to the processing of his/her contact email for the purpose of evaluating the contest can be evaluated. The random drawing of the contestant will take place by recording all participants in a table, assigning the order and randomly drawing the number of the winner using the algorithm on IS MUNI LOSOVANI. The selection of the best creation will be decided by the group of organizers after mutual consultation.
